The Owermoigne Cricket and Social Club

The playing of cricket and other social activities for the amusement and entertainment of the members

(a) Membership shall be by an Initial Membership Fee and Annual Subscription to be determined by the Committee and endorsed at the Annual General Meeting, due on 1st April and shall be deemed to have lapsed if not paid by 31st May, unless covered by Life Membership

(b) The Spouse of any Member shall be an honorary (non-voting) Member.

(c) Any person over 18 (eighteen) years of age shall be admitted to Membership at the discretion of the Committee.  Total Membership shall be limited to 150 (one hundred and fifty) with the exception of new applicants resident in Owermoigne.  No more than 30 (thirty) % of the total Membership shall reside outside the Parish of Owermoigne, the boundary being as at 1980.

(d) A completed application form shall be displayed on the Club Notice Board for at least two days prior to a Committee Meeting – any applicant may only use the club and its facilities a maximum of 3 times prior to acceptance

(e) The Committee may expel any Member whose conduct is considered to be detrimental to the Club

(a) The Club shall be managed by a Committee consisting of seven members, six of whom are to be elected at the Annual General Meeting.

(b) The Committee will include the following Officers, to be elected by the Committee:-
    1) Chairperson
    2) Vice-Chairperson
    3) Secretary
    4) Treasurer
The term of office for the Secretary and Treasurer shall be for two years, each to be appointed in alternative years.

(c) The Committee may co-opt to fill any vacancy

(d) The Committee shall be responsible for the purchase of intoxicating liquor.

(a) An Annual General Meeting must be held within three months of the end of the financial year.  The Agenda shall include.
    (i) the annual reports of the Committee
    (ii) the audited accounts
    (iii) the election of the Committee and the appointment of an Auditor
    (iv) any resolutions proposed and seconded

(b) An Extraordinary General Meeting may be summoned by the Committee or Members numbering 30 (thirty) or one fifth of the total membership, whichever is the lesser

(c) The Agenda for any General Meeting shall be circulated to all members for at least seven days prior to the date of the Meeting

(d) Any resolution may be passed by simple majority of Members voting at any General Meeting

These rules may be amended by resolution, provided that notice of the Meeting and the resolutions to be proposed thereat shall comply with Rule 5c

(a) All guests must be signed in by a Member

(b) Visiting teams and their supporters shall be Honorary Members for the day

(c) No person under 18 (eighteen) years of age will be admitted unless accompanied by an adult.  Please note that all under 18’s must leave the Club by 10:00 pm unless attending an organised event

All profits from the Club must be used for the sole benefit of the Membership

Members requiring the use of Club facilities must give seven days notice to the Committee

The Club is open for the sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks to Members in permitted hours in accordance with times displayed in the Bar and the Committee and Members meeting for the purpose of conducting Club business and organised functions approved by the Committee

(a) To safeguard the assets of the Club in the event of a temporary closure for any reason and until such time as the Club shall be re-started, four of the seven Committee Members shall be appointed as Trustees of the Owermoigne Cricket and Social Club assets

(b) In the event of the final closure of the Club, money held in the Club bank account, cash in hand and realizable assets shall be held by the Trustees until such time as these proceeds can be equally distributed to all paid-up Members at the time of closure
